Financial and Retirement Planning

Brad has been an accomplished investor for half of his life. As he has slowly transitioned away from traditional park and recreation consulting work, he has focused more on that which has been most successful in the past decade: investing, money management, and especially, retirement planning.

A “lightbulb moment” came to him in autumn of 2022. Speaking to the Tennessee Recreation and Park Association state conference was something he looked forward to doing, but he wanted a topic other than another angle on leadership. He had been working on the update to the family Retirement Plan, and it occurred to him that, in all the sessions he had attended in all the state and national conferences throughout his career, he had never once seen an offering for basic investing advice for the parks and recreation professional.

That became the catalyst to what has become a whirlwind of interest. Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, and Georgia associations have all expressed interest in a series of articles and sessions to discuss the importance of retirement planning and personal investing.

This has broadened into providing personal retirement plans for parks and recreation professionals; important financial and retirement advice for parks and rec professionals, from a parks and recreation professional. All with a focus on simplicity, layman’s language, and an objective of helping those with a great knowledge of programming, maintenance and special event planning, but maybe not so much personal investing, to become more secure in their financial future.

If your state agency is interested in having the popular “You’re Not In It For The Money–But You Need to Be!” session given at your state conference; or just want to know more about how Brad’s decades of experience in personal financial planning can assist you, feel free to reach out at any time.

It’s never too early to start thinking about a secure retirement!
