Bill has decades of experience is almost every facet of parks and recreation management. He managed every phase of the Oglebay Park enterprise during his almost 40-year career, including park operations, the Wilson Lodge Conference and Convention Center, the acclaimed National Training Center, and the Oglebay Foundation.
He served as Director of Development for the Oglebay Foundation, and used that experience to develop foundation and alternative fund development plans for over 50 agencies across the United States. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Park Foundations.
He is a nationally recognized speaker, and has been requested on numerous occasions to speak at state and national conferences, often with a focus on foundation and alternative fund development. He also is an Adjunct Professor at West Liberty University, teaching multiple classes on hospitality management.
He was elected to the prestigious American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in 2007, one of only 125 professionals in the United States to hold this distinction. Bill was awarded the 2010 National Recreation and Park Association’s Distinguished Professional of the Year.
A graduate of West Liberty University, he also holds Tourism and Hospitality Management certification from the acclaimed Hotel School of Cornell University.
